So right before Christmas, I had the pleasure of picking out a few items for my girls to wear from The Children’s Place. It was hard to pick just a few, but I did. You can see my adorable girls all dressed up here. Cute right?

Well this time, I actually got to go shopping at our local store in the mall. I have been inside maybe once or twice, just to look around. One thing I have always noticed right away, are their sale signs throughout the year. Right now, they are having sales on spring/summer clothing.

You can get boys or girls clothes in sizes NB all they way up to size kids 14.

The ladies there, were super friendly and offered me a large beach type bag to put any clothes into.

Ask me, why in the heck I thought it would be okay to bring ALL three girls with me? Of course the two older ones, would not stop touching everything. They were driving me crazy.

I guess it’s a good thing The Children’s Place is online too, because that makes things a little bit easier sometimes. If you don’t have a store near by, or looking to see if they have more in stock. Plus, they do offer FREE shipping on all orders over $75, and only $5 everyday shipping under that.

I decided to let each of them pick out an outfit. Carleigh choose a skirts with sizzle matching shirt set. Of course my little Kendall just had to have a dress. She seriously wears a dress as often as I have a clean one for her. She did pick out a couple of other ones first, and sadly they did not have her size. Finally, she picked a cute striped dress that was in her size. Of course, I get to choose Athena’s dress, because well she’s a baby. I actually picked two of them. A cute tank dress to wear, along with the other girls for photos at the park. Which I am hoping to do once Kendall get’s her cast off. The other dress, along with the leggings, I am going to save for our trip to NYC for BlogHer2012.

The grand total for everything was $49.95. Freaking awesome right? With the sales and a coupon mailer, I saved over 40%!

They really do have the cutest clothes, for a great price.

Have you shopped The Children’s Place before? If not, now’s a great time to shop their current Tanks, Tees, Shorts and More Sale or maybe check out their Clearance!

This morning as I was dropping Carleigh off at school, I couldn’t help but hear this SUV pull up in the parking lot. Why?

Probably because of the loud music blaring from it. Rap music. Rapping the “N” word… multiple times.

You know what. If you want to listen to that music, awesome. If you want to listen to it around your kids, to each their own. But why on earth would you possibly think it is okay to drive inside an Elementary School parking lot blasting it????

What the heck is wrong with people? Did they lose their common sense or respect for others and their children?

This featured guest post is brought to you by Jane at Home Security Systems.

The summer vacation months are approaching fast, and this means that you may have a lot of planning to do. You may still be figuring out some time to get away, or where you’re going to stay, etc. Any vacation involves a good deal of advance planning and preparation. However, it is important not to focus the entirety of this planning and preparation on your actual travel and destination. You also have to consider your home while you are away, and specifically you need to figure out ways to make sure that your home remains safe and secure in your absence.

Fortunately, there are a number of ways to go about doing this.

The first step is extremely simple and practical, but also one that helps out many people. Simply talk to your neighbors and explain when and for how long you will be out of town. If you are friendly with your neighbors, they will no doubt agree to keep their eyes on your property while you are gone. Of course, you can’t expect them to spend every waking minute watching your home, but it always helps to have some friendly eyes on the watch, and your neighbors may even agree to do things like pick up your newspapers, as the build-up of newspapers can key criminals off to the fact that nobody’s home.

Getting help is simply the best way to secure your home while away.

Additionally, you should make every effort, on your own, to make your home look occupied. This may mean keeping a car in the driveway or garage, leaving a light on, or, as mentioned, having your neighbors pick up the mail and papers. Criminals are far less likely to attempt break-ins or vandalism on homes with families in them, so if your home does appear occupied while it is not, you may actually be deterring crime.

Finally, you also want to make sure that your actual home security system is up-to-date and armed before you leave town. A properly armed home security system is extremely difficult to bypass, and these days you can even monitor your home’s system through your phone or smart device while you’re away! This means that, if your system is set up with this capability, you can actually arm and disarm your system from abroad, and even receive instant alerts if anything goes wrong. This allows you total control over your home’s security, which can in turn allow you total peace of mind on vacation!
