We’ve had a box of cake mix and a can frosting sitting in the cupboard for about a month. It was sent to us from Mom It Forward, to help celebrate their network birthday at home.
I’ve seen a couple different pics of these Eyeball Cupcakes floating around Pinterest, and thought they were such an easy and cute idea for Halloween.
For ours, I made chocolate cupcakes (with a cake mix, but you can use any recipe you’d like!), and used the can of purple frosting they had sent. I think purple is a great color for Halloween, but you could always do black or orange.
Now for the eyeballs, my very first thought was to use Lindt White Lindor Truffles. They’re already white, made, and shaped like an eyeball. No extra work needed!
The pupils are just black food gel, and the veins are made with red food gel.
So easy to make!
*Gasp* And there’s NO pumpkin in this recipe. Haha! Everything seems to be PUMPKIN everywhere, huh?
School party, house party, or just for fun – these are great! My oldest asked if we can make these every Halloween. I like her thinking. ;)
