So it’s that time of year again–time to buy a gift for your nephew’s birthday. Unfortunately, every year you rack your brain trying to figure out, what type of gift you should get for a kid who has everything? Here is the first gift giving tip: think about what he likes to do. What are his interests? Now, either search for a gift within his interests or, maybe more exciting, for something on the opposite end of the spectrum!

Here is a list of imaginative, outside of the box kids toys and gift ideas that are sure to not only surprise your nephew, or any kid in your life, but will leave them entertained for hours and even looking in anticipation to the next gift you get them.
Remote control electronics
Remote control toys are the way to go! Hours of fun are waiting to be had with a remote control toy. It never ceases to amaze adults, much less kids, that we can actually control things from across the room with a hand held controller. These days, with the advances in technology, the remote control kids toys are off the charts. There are vehicles that can drive through any terrain including snow and water and there are even helicopters and little astronauts that can be flown everywhere, complete with vertical take off and landing. And remote controlled objects are only the beginning! Electronic toys, it seems, are only bound by the imagination. You can’t go wrong giving one of these.
Photography and art hobbies
How about the gift of photos? You could potentially be giving a rewarding hobby in the process. As with the advances in technology that brought us the amazing remote controlled kids toys, advances also afford real digital cameras for kids. In fact, the technology in one kid’s camera far surpasses the technology you probably had in your first camera as an adult. Imagine how a child’s imagination could light up if they received the power of photography!
Science projects and experiments
A fun gift that never gets old is a science project kit. For years kids toys have brought us the marvels of science, from exploding volcanoes to baking kits. Now the science project toys are greater than ever. Imagine a child getting to learn about solar-power or getting to construct their very own pneumatic powered race car.
Music and musical instruments
The gift of sound. Now that’s a great thought. Maybe they are already a musician or maybe their musical genius is just waiting to be unlocked by the perfect gift. There are some really cool musical instruments, especially the new digital instruments. It’s actually odd that such creations are called “kids toys” when they are so sophisticated. No matter the child, they will be sure to get hours of entertainment out of an instrument. You can choose from traditional instruments or new digital creations that take composing to a new level.
While on the hunt for the perfect birthday gift to get for the kid who has everything, be sure and think totally outside of the box. Surprise them with something they haven’t even imagined yet. An added benefit is, these so called “kids gifts” might even make the perfect gift for some of the adults in your life. Happy gift giving.

I had a big bin (still have it actually) of musical instruments that are kinda unusual. The kids used to love to play with those and march around like they were in a parade. lol

My kids have always loved the non-traditional gifts. I think they’d be happier with some scrap craft stuff and glue than most toys.

My kids would love any of these. They received a science kit for Christmas and are enthralled with it. I admit it is lots of fun for us parents too.
