When you are pregnant, not only are you feeding your body, you’re also helping provide nutrients for that precious little baby inside of you. Eating healthy is always important, and even more so when you’re expecting.
Eat The Right Foods
What you eat during pregnancy is very important. Your diet should contain something from all the food groups: dairy, fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, eggs, fat and carbohydrates. I remember my midwife telling me to eat extra protein, which helps with lack of energy. Feeling tired and exhausted usually happens towards the beginning of the first trimester and sometimes lasts the entire pregnancy. Here is a great list of twelve foods you should eat during pregnancy.
Drink Plenty of Water
It’s especially important to drink at least 64 oz of water a day during pregnancy. Water helps carry nutrients through your blood to your baby, and it also helps prevent dehydration. In the last trimester dehydration can cause contractions that can trigger preterm labor.
Water can also help prevent some common pregnancy complications like constipation, hemorrhoids, and bladder infections.
Take Your Prenatal Vitamins
The truth of the matter is, it’s easier to say you will eat healthy then actually eating healthy. Pregnancy cravings are not a myth, and sometimes we tend to replace fruits and vegetables with sweets and snacks. Or sometimes it’s just nausea, and eating is just simply to hard.
The simplest way to make sure you are getting all the proper nutrients for you and baby is to take a daily Prenatal Vitamin.
BrainStrong Prenatal is a new kind of supplement. Not only does it contain all the important vitamins and minerals every pregnant women needs, it’s also powered by life’sDHA™. It’s the only complete over-the-counter prenatal multivitamin with 350 mg of the omega-3 fatty acid DHA, a natural brain nutrient essential for the development of a baby’s brain.
Avoid Certain Foods
Changes to your immune system during pregnancy can make you more vulnerable to food-borne illnesses. What would be just a mild upset stomach before could mean very serious complications during pregnancy, like dehydration or miscarriage.
Here’s a great list of foods you should avoid during pregnancy.
Don’t forget to take care of your body inside and out during pregnancy!

Oh, thank goodness I’m not going to be pregnant anymore and can eat as I please:) But I guess I should follow this advice anyway, right?:)

Technically, yes… Since I’m still nursing, I still take my Prenatals. As for avoiding certain foods, not so much. It’s still a matter of limiting the bad stuff.
I’m with Alicia! lol Not pregnant and not eating 100% Healthly, but I’ll keep this in mind for “if” we try again
