A Must Have Baby Item – Stokke MyCarrier

Last month, I attended BlogHer conference in NYC. While there, I went to the fabulous Style Suite hosted by Mom Trends. It was such a fantastic event, and I was even lucky enough to be there with a bunch of fabulous blog friends.

While there, I also meet a wonderfully nice lady, who was from Stokke. Now to be honest, I knew they made spectacular high chairs, but I had know idea about the other baby gear products they offered. That was until I had the wonderful opportunity to try out a Stokke MyCarrier, baby carrier.

Our vision “In the best interest of the child”, is the cornerstone of our product innovation, development, and production. Each Stokke product is developed to stimulate the child’s ongoing development through their ability to allow the bond between parent and child to grow through strong visual contact and interaction. We believe in creating unique, functional and long‐lasting products, attractively designed with a wide variety of accessories to provide, support, and promote well being for both parent and child.

The Stokee MyCarrier is very different then the baby carriers I have worn in the past. It’s design is very unique, and although it comes in three pieces, once you learn how to wear it, it’s a breeze.

Features

  • Fits all body sizes, and both women and men can use it.
  • Wear baby in three different ways. From birth all the way up to 3 years.
  • It fits like a backpack, which helps even out your child’s weight between your shoulders & hips, taking strain off your back
  • Ergonomically supports child and parent.
  • 100% Organic Cotton – soft and breathable fabric that is machine washable.

What I love most about the Stokke MyCarrier, is the that it really does fit like a backpack and makes Athena feel so light to carry. Granted she’s still only around 15lbs – I do notice a difference in where her weight is distributed, compared to other carriers I wear.

Because the MyCarrier is more backpack like, it’s a little more bulky (not heavy) then some other carriers. When you’re front carrying, it folds up easily, and you can easily fit it in any diaper bag. When it’s in the back carrying position, the metal bar makes it a little harder to fold up.

I personally do not front face, but it’s great that this is an option for parents, since a lot of babies love to be able to see out. I am very much looking forward to back carrying when she gets a little older.

The only feature it’s missing, which i wish it did have is a “hood” – when front carrying. It does have one for when your child needs it on your back, but not on the front piece. Instead, I often use my nursing cover to cover up when I’m nursing her.

Overall, the Stokke MyCarrier is a great investment in a baby carrier that will be used from day one. Baby wearing is so important and trust me when I say makes life so much easier, especially with multiple kids.

You can purchase a Stokke MyCarrier (for $249.00) or any other Stokke product from any of these online retailers or find a store near you. Connect with Stokke on Facebook and on Twitter for contests and up-to-date news.

Special “Thank you!” to Charlotte from Stokke for giving me this wonderful carrier. Which is now my favorite one to use. I was not required nor asked to write this review, but it’s so fantastic I wanted to share it with all of you. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

  1. I like how flexible it is. I imaging that during a long day of carrying it’s nice the switch from from front to back mode. Much easier on your back that way.

  3. That looks like a fantastic baby carrier! I wish I’d had one when my two were little. It was tough to get out when my son was born and my daughter was just over a year old. It would have been nice to have something like this once he got old enough for it.

  5. I had no idea Stokke made a baby carrier. We have two of the high chairs and if the quality is anywhere near the same, it has to be a great carrier.

  15. I like how versatile it is and how it fits so close to the parent’s body. I had another brand of carrier with my daughter. There was so much space between us that she swung from side to side. Not the secure feeling you want for your baby.

  16. What a fantastic baby carrier! What a great thing to have when traveling. Thanks for sharing this post :)

  17. Just adorable! I am so happy I stopped by, this one looks really great.
