My NYC Boat Tour #payitforwardexpress‏

While in NYC a few weeks ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to take a tour of the city, thanks to Madame Deals Media and Mommy Needs Her Coffee‘s Pay It Forward Express opp they had. They choose about 60 bloggers who applied to either do a bus tour or boat tour.

I of course, instinctively chose to do a boat tour of the city. I ended up going with another blogger Liz, from Yes No Films, which made it even more fun. You can even check out her post about our trip!

The Midtown Cruise is hosted by City Sightseeing New York, and starts off at Pier 78, along the Hudson River, and sails around the south part of Manhattan Island, all the way to just north of the Queens area. You can check out the entire route here.

During the boat tour, you get to see the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Battery Park, Governors Island, Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, Williamsburg Bridge, South Street Seaport, United Nations, Museum of Jewish Heritage, and the Chrysler Building. As well, you will get to see the different parts of the city like Chelsea, Soho, and Wall Street.

The weather is crazy in New York, well at least for me. But I really enjoyed sailing along the river, and feeling the breeze through the boat as we caught views around the city.

The entire cruise is actually narrated by the “captain”. So don’t worry if you’re not sure what you are supposed to be looking at or for, he will let you know.

Another neat thing about the cruise besides the views, was that they had an area where you could buy food and drinks, and we even saw some families bring their own food, making it nice to have lunch while enjoying the trip.

For more info, check out City Sightseeing New York on Facebook and Twitter.

I received a complimentary voucher to use on any Grey Line tour. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
