Being A Mentor

For those that have been keeping up with Mamavation, applications to be a Mamavation Mom ended last week, and tomorrow we will find out who the next Mamavation Moms are going to be.

I am so excited for the five finalists!

Tina – @madhattermom
Krista – @kristalswan
Johnna – @Johnna_r_t
Rachel – @Rachhabs
Pepper – @unicornbeauty

This time around, I won’t be in front of the camera, but behind it. Helping the new Mamavation Moms as a mentor. Knowing first hand what goes down, I will be giving my best to help support them both mentally and physically, as Wendy, myself, and the other Mamavation Mom graduates who will be participating in the graduate campaign later this month, will be participating in the exercise program as well.

I have to admit, I have been HORRIBLE the past month. I have no excuse, just that I need to start getting back into it. It’s not easy, and not always fun, but it needs to be done.

My current weight is -

Overall, I have lost 25.6 lbs since my Mamavation Application, earlier this year. That also means I have at least 12 lbs to lose by the end of the year. Plus more after.

I’m a little scared to be a mentor this time around, because I don’t want to feel like I’m failing anyone. My goal for this week and really the next 7 weeks is to be there for the new moms. I’m also going to try and do the key requirements as they have to, 100 oz of water a day, 10,000 steps a day, and I’m going to try following Alyssa’s meal plan for me, like before.

I could really use the extra inspiration this week, so my question for you is – What motivates YOU to be healthy and lose weight?

About Hanan Webster

In 2010, Hanan went from talking about her parenting up’s and down’s on private forums to discussing them with literally everyone on the internet with her blog lilac city momma. Since then, she’s had the opportunity to talk about parenting, cooking, photography, marriage, crafts, faith, and so much more. She also shares her opinions on everyday products from food to baby gear, and everything in between. With three little girls all under six, there is never a dull moment in their home. When she’s not blogging she’s chatting about parenting and life in general on Facebook and Twitter, or wasting way too much time on Pinterest.

  1. What will make you a great mentor is your honesty.. All the moms need to know that even graduates struggle and it’s ok for them to also :)

  3. I kind of think that what really motivates me is pride. I want to take pride in my body. Not necessarily how it looks, although that’s nice, but the same way a dude takes care of a sweet car. The more “classic” I get the more I want to make sure to do that extra buff and wax…and the most important part is the engine and I want to keep on truckin’ for a looooong time :)

  4. p.s. You’ll be a great mentor. I’m sorry I didn’t say that before. I really, truly believe it.

  5. Awe Hanan you doing great! And you can totally make your goal by the end of the year! And you will be a great mentor!

My boys keep me motivated. But I’m learning this year that just feeling good is such a great benefit of being healthy!

  6. You’re going to be a wonderful mentor! You’ve done amazing with your weight loss goals. I’m always around if you need me :)

  9. You’re going to be a great mentor!

My family motivates me – after all, I want to be able to keep up with my toddler, who just keeps getting more active by the moment. ;) I also have a pair of skinny jeans I wore in college that motivates me to no end. I want to squeeze my butt back into those at some point!

  11. You will be a fantastic mentor!!!!

  12. Honestly, the Mamavation Moms (you and Wendy, for starters) have been a big motivation. You did so well with your Mamavation Mom campaign, and that’s when I first joined the Sistahood. So, you inspire me. :)
