Please tell me I am not alone when it comes to not having any luck with cell phones and kids?
I mean, I know now-a-days there are a ton of apps that are geared just for kids, to play on your phone, but it doesn’t mean that they should be left unattended with them. Right?
Not for me anyways.
When we moved to Spokane, almost six years ago, we bought new cell phones. It was a pretty good phone, and lasted for a few years. Unfortunately my daughter, who was a little over a year old, got a hold of it and thought it needed to go for a swim. In the toilet. Gross, I know.
Thankfully, after taking the battery part off and letting it dry in a bowl of rice, it actually worked still. Amazing right? Don’t forget that! Rice absorbs liquid.
A couple of phones later, I am a lot more careful with my cell phone and my girls. Thankfully, most are password protected which makes it easier for them not to get into the phone. However, it’s still not safe from the toilet. Or drops. I can’t even count how many times I have dropped my phone.

I recently lost my phone … in my purse. It was not pretty and it was in there for 2 days before I finally found it.

I sat my mobile phone down in a cup of water in my cup holder in the car once. Amazingly, it still worked!
My cat throws my cell phone on the floor often. So far he hasn’t broken it.

I lost my phone and went throught a lot of trouble to get a new one.
Recently, while buckling my kids into their car seats, I had left my phone ontop of the car roof. Went about my errands and came back to find my phone in the street, ran over by cars.
left my cellphone in my backyard and the sprinklers got turned on..dried it out in a bowl of rice and luckily it actually worked again.

My daughter dropped my phone in the toilet while on vacation.
My mobile mishap is my husband. He is on his third phone in a year and a half because he keeps loosing them. Frustrating.

My most recent mishap was last fall, when I dropped my phone in a fountain while on vacation in Chicago, but I’ve been extra careful since then!
Other than regularly forgetting to charge my phone I have no mobile horror stories
no real phone problems just getting outdated (had one phone for over 2 years)
I was out running and had a water bottle and the phone in the “roof” of the stroller and did not see that the bottle was leaking….. $200 later – I have a a new iPhone…
My mobile mishap happened when I dropped my iPhone and cracked the screen.

i dropped my iphone4 and the back of it shattered. I have it in a case so it doesn’t bother me. But why would they make a glass back? crazy people.

HAd my phone in my cup holder in the car and a large tea i had just bought was right next to it in the other cup holder. We had the dog in the car and he stepped on the tea spilling it everywhere! Thankfully the bag of rice trick worked and my phone was fine.
I had my phone on my lap when I got out of the car. Unfortunately it was raining at the time and fell into a giant puddle.

The rice trick doesnt always work. “Someone” washed tried to help out by doing laundry and threw my jeans in that had the phone i had just received the day before for my birthday. Rice didnt work, then my daughter dropped her iphone in the river and whatdya know? the rice worked

Recently I knelt on my phone by accident and shattered the screen.
My oldest son took my phone away from my youngest son and didn’t want him to get it so he threw it into the laundry room. The laundry room was gated off because my 65 pound rottweiler was in out of the heat. Most expensive chew toy ever!

Accidentally sent a text that was supposed to go to my SO to my mother! Luckily it wasn’t anything particularly racy, but still–embarrassing!

My son dropped his phone when he got out of his car at night. He didn’t realize until the next morning and it had rained overnight. It was a 6 day old iphone too.
Don’t ask me why, but when I go boating, I keep my phone with me but put it in a ziplock bag to protect it. A few months ago it somehow made it out of its ziplock and into the water never to be found again. I was pretty sad… luckily I was plannin on upgrading soon anyway (freudian phone death maybe) and was only sans phone for a few hours.

A few days ago I was argueing with my husband over text and somehow my phone switched over to the chat screen with my mother in law. So when I said that he was being mean well i said You are being mean. She text back and asked what she did to make me so mad and I went off all this time not realizing I was talking to her. It took me about 10 minutes to figure out that it was not m husband and I only figured it out because he text me and said I guess you have calmed down. I still feel so dumb about the whole thing.
I haven’t had an incident, too.
