The Complete Idiot’s Guide® to Couponing

The Complete Idiot’s Guide® to Couponing is exactly that, a complete idiot’s guide written by Rachel Singer Gordon. She must have done some intense research and studying before sitting down to write her book, or just really knows her stuff.

Both of my sister-in-laws are the kind of people that can walk in to a grocery store and come out with cart loads of food for their families for under $20, and often free. As I listen to them list on and on and on about all the things they got, stacking coupons with sales, I stare in to the distance thinking to myself how insane it would be if I were one of those people. I think of all the time and effort, the brain power, the search power it would take to come up with great deals of my own to share and then I think, “That could never be me.” I’m too impulsive, I don’t know how to shop coupons, where to find them, where to take them, what sales are where. That’s too much homework for a couple dollars. After I began reading this book, I then began to see the opportunities I really had at hand.

The The Complete Idiot’s Guide® to Couponing has everything you need to know. I feel like she really gives you ALL the ins and outs of couponing.

  • Different types of stores and what kind of programs they participate in or offer.
  • Where to find the best deals.
  • What websites to use – because some of the best deals are online and I had literally had no idea until now.
  • How to be a friendly shopper.
  • The difference between hoarding and stocking.
  • How to plan out your shopping, with patience.
  • The realities of bulk and generic shopping.
  • How to stack coupons and get the best deals.
  • The do’s and don’ts of couponing as far as what works and what doesn’t.
  • Different apps or programs that help making couponing easier.
  • Whats safe and what’s not as far as policies.

The list goes on and on and on and the savings can be tremendous!

Anything you could ever want to know about couponing
is all wrapped up in this wonderful book.

We spend roughly $400 on food, for our family for four, each month. That’s with two small kids who don’t east full servings quite yet. I don’t know if that’s average, above or below, I just know that we could really benefit from saving more money each month. I want to be that woman with the cart full of great deals and have stock piles of food for bad days. I want to be able to save money on groceries, so I can instead spend it on a new wardrobe.

I’m excited to put what I have learned to practice. I know it will take some time to get the hang of it, but instead of being discouraged when I get stuck or have questions, I won’t give up. Instead I have this book to turn to.

I encourage you to purchase a copy of The Complete Idiot’s Guide® to Couponing. Even if you aren’t an extreme couponer and just want to save a little extra money each month, this is a great place to start.

These great deals aren’t just on food items either, you can save tons of money on non-food items as well!
