#Mamavation Monday Week 1

Hey guys!

This is my first official Mamavation Monday Post.

I’m am so freaking excited to share with you guys my new journey into a better lifestyle.

I hate posting this stuff, but I need accountability, so here it goes…

Beginning Weight (4/8) – 238.8
Current Weight (4/15) – 235.3

So I lost 3.5 lbs this past week. Which is awesome, but most likely water weight.

End Goal Weight – 145

Weekly Goals

  • Stay at or under 1800 calories a day
  • Drink at least 3 liters of water a day
  • No store bought candy or sweets
  • Exercise at least 3x this week
  • No eating out or buying coffee Mon-Fri.
Long Term Goals
  • Join the YMCA by June 1st
  • Lost 35 lbs by August 1st
  • Buy a new dress for BlogHer

I am feeling really pumped. I have been going almost a week at eating better and it’s slowly starting to feel okay. My only downfall right now is exercising. Mostly because it’s hard to get any done with the girls around. That is why, I am hoping I can start taking the girls to the YMCA daycare, so I can get a class in a few times a week. For some reason, it’s just harder to try and do it at home, because they either want to do it with me and get in the way, or I can leave to go for a walk or jog.

Question of the Week (thanks to @fitmomintraining)

What are some fitness areas in my town?

My house – We have Xbox Kinnect, which is great to do exercise games and dance games.

Parks – Great place to go for a walk or jog, or even to walk to take the kids to the park.

YMCA – I started to go last year, and am looking forward to signing up again soon. I love their group classes.

Gym – There are at least half a dozen gyms near by.

Mom’s House – She has a treadmill, if I need to use it. Plus she is in walking distance to our house.

Mall – The mall here is perfect for the winter time, to walk, jog, or stroller walk.

Where do you go to exercise?

It can be VERY hard to get a work out in with kids at your feet all the time! I work full time then go home to my 3 kids who constantly need and want my attention.., I try to take walks with them, or even get them involved in a work out with me ,and if all else fails I am working out when they are in bed (whether its after bedtime, or before they get up!)
Sounds like your doing great and your on a great path to being fit. Keep it up!

  2. Great Job Keep up the great work!!! You will accomplish your goals.

    • I think that is the hardest part about weight loss for me. Trying to get into that grove of working out weekly and hopefully, daily eventually!

  4. Congrats on your weight loss and all the planning you are doing. I’m also looking forward to a new dress for BlogHer :)

  5. Awesome job & congrats on the loss this week!!!! Way to go! You have some awesome goals! :)

We joined the Y a few months ago & I love it. I don’t even want to think about what the scale would say if I wasn’t going to the Y regularly :) I am starting a aqua zumba group class this week to help me get some pool time that doesn’t involve boring laps. One thing that I have been doing is water jogging, they have belts for you & you make a circuit. REALLY works your abs and thighs without the impact of running. That is what I try to do on the days I am sore from a long run but still want to get running in.

Good luck this week! Can’t wait to hear how it goes!
