The world we live in is growing and growing each year. It’s kind of crazy the amount of “stuff” we use each day compared to when I was little. I think for awhile, we didn’t really think about how some of our daily tasks and uses could really be affecting the earth, but it is.

There are a ton of ways that you can help your family and children learn about being more eco-concious and earth friendly. Turn the lights off, take shorter showers, and an even easier way is simply to recycle.

I have to admit. When it comes to soda pop cans, we are always on the ball about taking them to the recycle bin. But in reality, there is a lot more out there then just pop cans that can be recycled.

Even if you don’t really have the room in your home for recycle bins, you can easily purchase something simple like the Rubbermaid 2 in 1 recycler.

This two-unit bin allows you to either contain trash and recyclables all in one location or sort recyclables. The top unit is perfect for collecting recyclables and has a fold away handle that makes it easy to take out and empty into your recycling bin. We are currently using ours to sort recyclables. The top bin is for soda cans, glass bottles, and cans. The bottom bin is for small card board and paper.

Since we started to use our recycler, we have noticed a difference in how much goes from being in the garbage to actually being taken to the recyle bin outside. Even my oldest now puts her school papers into the recycler instead of the garbage.

I especially love that the black sleek design fits well into our kitchen and it stays out of the way.
