I’m a women, yes. But unlike most, I don’t care too much about shoes. I like cute and comfy, no heels, and mostly flip flops. My husband, is mostly the same when it comes to shoes too. He pretty much wears the same pair of shoes, all year round.
When he started his new job back in December, they gave him a certain amount of money to spend on work boots. He ended up spending close to $200, and had to use a little bit of our money to make up the difference.
I’m still gasping at $200 boots.
Well now it’s almost summer time and he needs to get a new pair of boots, because his are insulated for winter time and he says they get all hot and his feet get all sweaty when he’s working outside.
The past week or so, we have been looking at boots online. The more and more I look online, I notice the trend, in which the “good” ones like Timberland shoes, Red Wing’s, or even our local White’s Boots, all cost around $200 or more.
To me, that’s crazy…but considering he buys shoes like once every 10 years, it’s not that bad I guess. I mean, you really want a pair of work boots to last a while too, right.
Does your husband/spouse buy work boots? Any recommendations for steel-toe ones for summer?

I know EXACTLY what you mean! My husband doesn’t need boots for work, but he does for riding his motorcycle. We are talking boots that start at $100 – and those are the cheap, crappy ones. He usually spends $200 to $250 on them, but they do last a long time, maybe 4 years.
So I never feel bad about dropping $60 on a pair of heels. LOL

It’s crazy how much shoes cost! Although, when it comes to comfort…I guess you get what you pay for too. The last pair of wedges I bought, and loved, ended up hurting my feet SO bad.
Timberland are the best work boots that I have seen so far, they last a long time!

Are they? Good to know, thanks!
The companies you have listed above are all wonderful for quality work boots (actually, I’m only familiar with Timberland & Red Wing). I would say, spend the money as it’s a major work issue for your husband if his shoes aren’t right.

Shoes are expensive when you are buying name brand. For me, I have always had better luck with the name brand shoes when it comes to wear and tear.

Work shoes can be expensive but at least they do seam to last. I’m a flip flop girly too good thing because my guys kill me with shoes specially my teenage son seems like his foot grows every other month.

My husband used to wear work boots but not anymore. I’m sure they are very expensive because they protect their feet right? And I agree with Amber, I’m sure they are made to last. I’m sure he’ll only need winter and summer work boots. Good luck!

Oye. I know your pain. I’m easy going about shoes too, I think I own 3 pairs. But my husband because of his shoe size he has to special order them and only does that once a year. He also has work boots but has to special order those too through law enforcement suppliers because NO ONE carries his size in stock. :/
