So basically there is this indoor mat that picks up dirt and germs as you step on it. It’s amazing.
I’m serious. It’s even called The Amazing Mat.
The Amazing Mat consists of a printed frame and 30 anti-bacterial sheets. With a non-skid backing, you can place it on any type of surface in your home or garage. Plus, it comes in a variety of designs that fit with any decor. A refill pad of 30 slightly sticky clear plastic sheets come on top of the mat. These capture dirt, germs, bacteria, pollen, dust, and mold when you or your pets step on it. When the top sheet gets dirty, just simply peel off and expose the clean one underneath. Each one is numbered so you know when it’s time to order a refill pad.
Check out this video, it shows exactly how it works.
One of the first things my husband mentioned, was that it seems wasteful. It’s really not, since every liner is non-toxic and can be recycled with your plastics.
I think keeping a traditional outside door mat is still a great idea, but having The Amazing Mat as soon as you step inside is much better for your home then the traditional indoor mats that scrape dirt off your shoes, but send the dirt airborne into your home. The Amazing Mat not only traps it on the mat itself, but its specially treated film captures more than just dirt, including pollen, bacteria and germs.
The Amazing Mat is made of many layers of super thin Polyethylene. It is non toxic and kid-friendly, which makes it completely safe to walk on barefoot, and trust me, you won’t get stuck to it. Although, that would come in handy on school mornings. Just kidding!
One key to remember is that The Amazing Mat is for indoor (or covered) use only. Sunlight, direct heat, or rain can damage the mat and make it defective.
Each liner is numbered, with 30 sheets total. This doesn’t mean you have to throw it away after only one day though. Each liner can be used for up to 3-7 days depending on the weather. Right now, during the winter, I have been removing the liners after about 2-3 days.
I admit I was a little skeptical at first about The Amazing Mat, but I am very pleased with the extra cleaning it does for us. Especially with two crazy kids and a puppy who is let out at least a few times a day. I’m planning on buying refills for it very soon.
You can purchase your own The Amazing Mat in one of six different designs for only $29.95. Each single refill kit (30 sheets) is $19.95 or buy a multi refill kit (3 – 30 sheets) for $29.95, which is a better value.
Thanks to the wonderful people over there, one reader will win your choice of The Amazing Mat, which includes 30 recyclable adhesive sheets. Enter to win below!

What about the wet stuff? Does it absorb?
Amanda recent post: Two Words
The mat says “slippery when wet” and their website recommends it does not get exposed to wetness. However, since it snows around here we have walked on it with wet shoes and it’s fine. I would just remove that liner afterwards.
