Back in September I joined a local MOPS group. For those of you that aren’t familiar with MOPS, it stands for Mothers of Preschoolers. Basically, a group of women (mothers) who mentor new or younger mothers. We meet once a month and have breakfast, listen to the speaker for that month, and do a craft. It’s just a great group of women who have the same thing in common. We are all mothers and are all going through the same experiences with our children.
Our MOPS meetings are held at a local church. A good number of mentors and members also attend the church as well. The church has a bible study group called, Apples of Gold. A six-week Nurturing Program for Women.
Basically, each week we meet and learn new recipes, how to cook them, that week’s lesson, then discussion over the meal they taught us to cook.
There are six lessons total.
- Kindness
- Loving Your Husband
- Loving Your Children
- Submission
- Purity
- Hospitality
At the end of the six weeks, I will let you all know what I thought of it!

We have a few MOPS groups in my area, I’ve never been though! It sounds like it would be a great way to meet other parents. I look forward to hearing more about what you think about the program!
